These lists are intended to help our Adoption Partners identify animals that may have special medical and/or behavioral needs that may prevent them from being chosen for adoption. While we do our best to identify special needs animals at intake, behavior and medical issues may be noted or arise at any time, which may cause an animal to appear on these lists any time after impound. These pages are live and are intended to provide the most current information on special needs animals at OC Animal Care. You are encouraged to check these lists frequently.

If you are a 501(c)3 rescue organization and want to inquire about an animal listed, please use the Take Action button next to each shelter pet entry to contact the Adoption Partner Coordinator.

If you'd like to become a registered Adoption Partner with our program, please visit our Adoption Partner Program Page and learn how to register your group.

Animals on this web page are those that have medical or behavior issues that would be best handled by our Adoption Partners. Animals are designated on this list as RESQ-BHV (behavior) or MEDICAL. There may also be animals designated as just RESQ. RESQ animals may be animals too young for adoption or animals that have special circumstances.
